Turn your pruning waste into income and value for your farm
Your pruning waste has value. IBERIACHAR plans to pay for agricultural biomass, as an alternative to burning and to leaving waste on the farm. Our model is designed to turn today's problem into an economic and environmental opportunity for farmers in Murcia.
Video
Silent 24-second video. It shows that pruning waste often ends up burned, which costs labour, permits, time and fire risk, and IBERIACHAR's proposal to give that waste value. It ends by inviting farmers to become suppliers.
How supply will work
IBERIACHAR plans to buy agricultural and forestry biomass from the Region of Murcia directly from those who generate it: farmers, cooperatives, and agricultural associations.
We plan to offer three ways to deliver: as unprocessed prunings, with pickup and chipping handled by IBERIACHAR; chipped on your farm, for us to collect; or chipped and delivered by you to the plant.
IBERIACHAR plans to pay by dry matter, meaning the usable biomass once the water content is subtracted, and the price per metric ton will depend on the delivery method. For on-farm pickup, there is a minimum quantity.
The calculator gives an estimate for guidance only; the final price will be set in a supply agreement.
Prices exclude VAT. For supply contracts longer than 5 years, IBERIACHAR may offer an additional proposal, if it suits the farmer.
What is your pruning worth?
Estimate an indicative payment for the pruning residues from your farm. We pay by dry matter, so the amount does not depend on how much the water weighs.
Indicative, non-binding estimate. Final price by contract, based on scale weight and moisture measured at the plant. Excl. VAT.
Frequently asked questions
What kinds of pruning waste will IBERIACHAR accept?
We are starting with citrus pruning waste, and we are also interested in waste from other crops. Tell us in the form what biomass you have and where it is, and we will let you know if it fits.
How much will IBERIACHAR pay for pruning waste?
It depends on how it is delivered: as cut branches, shredded on the farm, or shredded and delivered to the plant. The calculator on this page gives an approximate figure, excluding VAT. It is not an offer: real prices and conditions are always agreed by contract.
Do I have to shred the pruning waste myself?
Not necessarily. IBERIACHAR will offer delivery or collection of biomass, and pruning waste can be delivered as cut branches, shredded on the farm, or shredded at the plant. The calculator shows each option.
Is there a minimum quantity?
Yes, there is a minimum quantity per collection or delivery, depending on the delivery method. The calculator warns you if your quantity is lower. If you have a small quantity, write to us and we will look into it.
When will the plant start operating?
IBERIACHAR is a project under development and there is no confirmed date yet. The dates and capacities shown on the website are forecasts, not guarantees. If you tick the news checkbox in the form, we will write to you when there is news.
Will I have to sign a contract?
Real prices and conditions are always agreed by contract. For supply contracts longer than 5 years, IBERIACHAR may offer an additional proposal, if it suits the farmer.
What is biochar and what is it for?
Biochar is a charcoal-like material obtained by heating biomass without oxygen (pyrolysis). It is designed for water filtration, for circular materials such as cement, ceramics and compost, and for regenerative agriculture.
What data does the form ask for, and why?
Name, farm or cooperative, municipality, province, type of biomass, tons per year, phone, email and a message. We use it to reply to you and to assess a possible supply. More information in the Privacy Policy.
Does filling in the form commit me to anything?
No. The form only lets us get in touch with you. Any agreement would come later, by contract.
